There are currently mouse selection toggles for linked elements, pinned elements, elements by surface, elements in underlay, etc. Toggling these off and on during a session can come in very handy. It would be great if we could also control whether or not elements are selectable by the hatch pattern.

The current behaviour is to always select/highlight an object by the hatch pattern. This becomes particularly frustrating when we want to disable select by surface but the element has a surface pattern (tiles, floorboards, sand, etc.) as it essentially remains permanently selectable by surface. Having the option to enable/disable element selection by hatch pattern would solve this issue.

It does appear to only happen for model patterns as it is actually recognizing the hatch lines. The issue is that at a standard view scale with any type of pattern the lines are close enough that your mouse doesn't recognize the space between the hatch lines.

Definitely an annoying little quirk.
