idea allow copying file path en Revit Ideas

It would be helpful if tennants could click the saved paths of linked (cad) files inside the manager window to copy them to the clipboard. That would help checking whether all project participants have access to that path. There is also less concern for errors when copying such a path manually. After all you do already copy these paths somewhere in order to have them appear as a mouse-over hint.

Dialog Box | Explorer Path Functionality

I regularly move between multiple file types on multiple server locations and often find it easier to copy paste path locations to boost productivity.

We can currently do this via "File Name:" but then must retype the desired file name as it is lost during the copy paste of the path location.

It would be great to have access to the native path functionality of Windows Explorer that is available in other programs such as Microsoft Excel.

We use a freeware app named Clipname that accomplishes this (and more)

http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/OS-Enhancements/ClipName.shtml

It's a right-click option that plugs in to just about anywhere a file name or path is used.

You can get the file name, the path, both, and even a url file path

Add ability to copy link located in the subfolder

If paste an RVT link that is located in the subfolder to another file this link has incorrect relative path. If save changes to the target file and then try to re-open it the error: “Revit could not find or read 1 references" shown.

It reproduced if the link is located in the subfolder. For example main RVT file located in the C:\test and link is located in the C:\test\sub. In this case the relative path in the target will be \sub\sub\somefile.rvt
