It would be beneficial to have the ability to define design states, like Summer and Winter operation.

This need came up with sustainability. In many cases the same physical piping system serves heating and cooling too, based on seasonal needs.

At the moment two separated models / duplicated design options are needed to complete this. Sizing results of the operation states have to be unified manually.

Can you elaborate a bit on your request? What is the 'state changing device'? is that just a valve?

What would the ability to change state do that you can't do now?

In your image, you show that you have a separate boiler and chiller (one creates heat, and one helps reject it).

Can you provide a more detailed schematic (but still simple) showing a handful of other equipment (e.g., heating and cooling terminals, fans, pumps, etc.?)

Thanks for taking the time to submit your idea. Unfortunately, this idea did not get the support of the community over the last 6 months and as such we will not be pursuing it at this time. Please feel free to rework (titles and clear descriptions are really important) and resubmit this one down the road.
