idea Representation of Trunking & Bus-bars en Revit Ideas

In current Revit electrical platform, there is no option to represent Trunking and Bus-bars, so we generally model those things with Duct elements. But to get the proper BOQ/ Schedule, we need to add lots of parameter, if possible then please add those items in Revit.

Now a days trunking is used in most of middle east projects and we generally model those trunking with duct. But to get the actual schedule /properties , required to add lots of parameters. And for the bus-bars the exact size is also not available in duct system family.

I use a regular parametric family for trunking in my projects. Basically just a simple extrusion.

Then you can easily add parameters or set it to any category you desire.

Yes, we can also use parametric family as a option, but at the time of coordination it will take to much time to adjust the fittings or any offset.
