idea "split with gap" for pipes and ducts en Revit Ideas

In Revit, the split command cuts a pipe or duct in two, leaving a fitting between each piece.
If you need to really separate the two endings, you need to break twice and delete what remains between.
There is a button "split with gap", but this button does nothing on pipes or ducts.
See video for example: https://knowledge.autodesk.com/community/screencast/0a216a02-ccb7-40e9-9581-9396182b1ea4

In AutoCAD MEP, splitting a pipe or duct leaves a real gap between each ending which size we can choose.
See example: https://knowledge.autodesk.com/community/screencast/7727df0d-81fb-4aa3-a416-86932626be8f

AutoCAD MEP does it clearly more fluently. Could it be possible that Revit does it as good?

This is essential for anyone doing ducting or piping runs in Revit... I've always been confused as to why "split with gap" is only designed for walls. It already has a "Joint Gap" parameter that can be preset for ducts and pipes.

Modifying 100's of pipes/dcuts for soffit steps would be a LOT less tedious with this feature :).

Congrats! We think this is a great idea, so we've decided to add it to our Revit Public Roadmap. Thanks for the suggestion!

It does leave the split line unions though... which leaves it the same amount steps. I was hoping it would be a single click to split the pipe based on a fixed distance.

When I try to use the tool, absolutely nothing happens. If I click on the tool and then click on a pipe, it exits the command, like nothing has happened.
