idea Option to Automatically Install Updates en Revit Ideas

We need an option to automatically install all updates for Autodesk programs in the Autodesk Desktop App. There's currently an option to automatically install updates for the ADA itself, but not the programs it manages. My colleagues never bother installing ANY updates.

This is a very bad idea...while Autodesk does suggest to always install updates, sometimes an update will update Revit just enough that you cannot open the model if you don't have that update. This can cause issues with consultants if they have not updated yet either.

As a BIM Manager I prefer to install the updates on my test machines first to make sure nothing breaks before updating the entire office.

I see what you mean about being cautious about new updates. However, it can be just as big of a PITA working with someone who has never installed a single update.

An additional option to consider would allow you to be able to select how frequently you want updates to be installed. Such as monthly or semi-annually. Hell, even once a year would be better than nothing!

I'm with @Anonymous - best to handle this with management rather than technology. For larger businesses that would be IT under the guidance of the BIM manager, but for smaller ones it should fall solely under the latter. They should be keeping track of what has been released, when, and if it applies ensure that everyone is updating in concert. That also saves a bit of work as they would only download (and archive!) the update once rather than every user doing so individually.
