Plan Regions do not affect the view range of point clouds. This is important for documenting existing conditions with multiple floor elevation transitions.

Thanks for taking the time to submit your idea. Unfortunately, this idea did not get the support of the community over the last 6 months and as such we will not be pursuing it at this time. Please feel free to rework (titles and clear descriptions are really important) and resubmit this one down the road.

I agree, this is very important. We use point clouds from a FARO Focus scanner to inspect steel embed plates for placement. In Revit, using a plan view to show the steel at a roof level that slopes from a high to low point, we need differing cut planes (or view ranges) in order to show the point cloud overlaid to the steel model (as-built vs. design).

A plan region will affect the Revit elements and allow us to show the detail desired at the higher and lower points of the roof but the plan region will not affect the cut plane of the point cloud. This needs to be fixed.

Unfortunate that this was archived. If possible I would like to see this posted again as point clouds and 3D scanning are gaining popularity and I believe that this will be an issue that will be encountered more often.

Can we get some more momentum for this? Seems like a simple improvement. See value for this in site work as well.

Agreed, can't understand why plan regions don't affect the pointcloud view range. Needs addressing considering how expensive this software is.

I concur the ability to control the view range of point clouds using plan regions is very much needed.
