I'd like the ability to adjust the draw order of viewports placed on a sheet. In some instances we will "stack" viewports on a sheet in order to get a look for a specific plan. The order in which the views are placed on the sheet effects how they are printed. Rather than removing the views and then placing them on the sheet in the proper printing order, I'd like to just be able to select one and move it to the back, etc.

Yes, we very often need to overlap views for various reasons, usually as a workaround for other limitations within Revit. You have to be careful how you place the views on the sheet. If you place them out of order, you must delete and start over. Applying draw-order to views would be really helpful.

I've always wanted this feature. The constant removal/addition of views to get the right look is frustrating, especially when when the models are complex which slows things down trememdously.

@ipseluteWhere did you find the link to that file? Good try... but doesn't work (for draw order).

Dragging the view from the Sheets section of the Project Browser IS a good tip to re-place a view on a sheet, but it's only that: RE-placing the view. It saves you from having to remove the view from the Sheet and hunt it down in the Project Browser so you can add it back again, so thanks for that! But you have to manually reposition it (not a BIG issue if you can snap to another view) AND the View Title (position and line length).

@AnonymousYes, pyRevit > [Drawing Set] > Sheets > Reorder Selected Viewport can help. It's better than the above because it positions the view for you, but it's only a partial solution because it can't re-position the view title due to an API limitation - vote for Open up View title in Revit API to fix that.

@lionel.kai: I just googled it. Strange though, it works for me in Revit 2020 like this: place view #1 on sheet by dragging it from the Project browser, drag view #2 from the Project browser on top of view #1 on the same sheet. You have to actually DROP view #2 on top of view #1. Revit will align the views automatically if they overlap close enough.

This does not work if you drop view #2 outside of view #1. If you place views next to each other, then try to move to overlap them, the view order will not change.

I found no button / option to manually change the view order.

I don't know whether the problem exists for upper versions, but while I was working on 2019 version, I was encountered with the same problem. I resolved the issue simply by removing two problematic views, and then dragged them based on their superimposition order, and luckily it worked.
