idea Quick Select In Revit en Revit Ideas

I believe it would be very helpful to add a "quick select" option, that would allow you to not only select objects on a certain workset, but of the same type, materials, height, linetype, etc.

It would make building movements or construction adjustments quick and easy if you could, for example, "select all walls that have brick as a material" and then change that brick to poured-in-place concrete or something.

Another example, "select all curtain walls that are 4' in height" >>> "change to curtain wall type "x".

You can use Filters for that. I admit a "Select Similar" option would be great. Just like in Autocad.

While it is external and SHOULD be included in Revit, we recently discovered RushForth tools enhances the standard selection filter to allow filtering the selection by parameters and parameter values. There's a free 30-day trial and it also has a wonderful sheet/view manager that can automate sheet creation and placing views on sheets. The documentation leaves something to be desired, but they have videos that can supplement the instructions. It was well worth my $100.

We've also created an app in the app store called Revit Quick Select that does what you're after: https://apps.autodesk.com/RVT/en/Detail/Index?id=2938312742466834126

There is currently no up-to-date free solution for this. Using filtering in schedules covers most but not all cases (for example views and revision clouds cannot be scheduled). Please add this to Revit there are so many use cases for this and the features that currently exist (like filters for visibility) are so close to making this work already. All that would be needed is a UI that takes the current view filters idea and allows you to select the elements instead of filtering it for v/g purposes.
