I'd like the a schedule field for family "host". This will help me find un-hosted families in my model, even if I don't have a linked model.

I know there's a script solution, but that's not as solid as an official solution.

https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/revit-mep-forum/add-a-field-in-a-schedule-to-show-what-the-family-is-hosted-on/m-p/7249758#M43108

I was just contemplating a similar problem. But a slightly different spin on this.

In practice, as a family can schedule information on itself, and where specific to the family hosting, adjacent room information via the calculation point, and now project information.

What would be helpful is if a hosted family could then read and schedule information from the host. So as per the above, but allowing to read any shared parameter or host information from that which is attached.

By example a door or window could reference the wall construction of it's host, reference a name (to allow selection of hosts), or schedule the fire rating of the host element where of relevance for the family nested on the host.
