tema Face--extract with feature recognition suggestion en FeatureCAM Forum

I have a suggestion for programming face milling from a solid. I am trying to face 3 surfaces on one part. These surfaces are welded to the top of the part and need to be milled. I choose face milling and extract with feature recognition. I selected all three surfaces and it seems like it will worked exactly like I wanted it too. However, when I run the tool paths it mills the space between the pads. The boundaries seems to be one larger boundary as opposed to three smaller ones. When I switch it to 90 degree zig zag the tool paths got a little better but still didn't rapid between the three pads. It would be nice if the three surfaces would create three different boundaries. Also, when selecting boundaries individually on the dimensions tab, only 1 curve can be selected per face mill feature.

Hi Tom,

Thanks for taking time to submit your valuable suggestions.

Yes, both of them are feature requests. I have added your suggestions in both the feature request incident and forwarded them to the development team.

Thank You.

This moment the best way to milling it with your idea is creating few additional safe surfaces and 3 similar operations. But it's good conclusion.

Obviously multiple boundaries in a face feature would work best. But since we can't currently do that, you could program one of the pads and then pattern that feature. It's also fairly easy to program a parallel surface feature with multiple stock boundaries.

This is what I did. However, in the past, I have had multiple faces without any pattern.
