topic Facing entry and exit points in Fusion Manufacture

I wanted to get other ideas than the way I solve this problem

Scenario?

material is 10" on the X and 5" on the Y.

Cutter Diam is 6"

Cutting speed is 10 ipm

Ramp and pluge speed it 40 ipm

The problem:

There is no fields for telling 360 to begin cutting speed before touching the material.

As is stands it enters the material at ramp speed then slows down to cutting speed.

The point that it begins the cutting speed is based on the tool centerline.

As a result I get a nasty cut the first inch or so then the nice cut the rest of the way.

The only way I have found to crutch this is to lie and enter the cutter as 8 inches.

This way it makes the down turn and slows down to cutting rate just before it touches the material.

I also can slow the ramp rate down but that really sucks up the time.

Any other way?

My pics are not dead accurate. I just put them up to give you the idea.

Turn off your lead-in and out.

On the Passes tab, set your "Pass Extension" to 60% of the radius.

This will rapid to depth, slightly off the part. It will then proceed to cut at your cutting feedrate.

That will work. Thanks

Funny thing., I messed around with that earlier and was not getting the result needed. Who knows?

I do think it would be a good thing if we had control of that extension feature for both ends rather than being the same on both ends.
