Hi all,

I have a part with a bore that escapes the part at different heights. Depending on user unput parameter "Option", I suppress one of the hole featuers. As you can see in the figure to the right, the height at which the horizontal bore escapes is controlled by two sketch points. There is a horizontal constraint between the sketch points and the "middle line" of each horizontal bore.

I was wondering if it is possible to only model 1 of the horizontal bores, and control which sketch point the middle line has the horizontal constraint to using iLogic. So, if the user insert 1, then the horizontal bore escapes at height 35 mm, and if the user inserts option 2, it jumps up to height 75 mm.

I have found some information about creating sketch and constraints in ilogic, but I can't figure out how to access already existing constraints, and control them.

I have attached the part.

Please note that I know this exact problem could be solved by simply controlling the height of one work point and let the sketch follow. But in my "real" part, I only have the work points from my layout sketch to work with, so it is not a solution for me.

Any help here is much appreciated!

espen

So, like you said, it would be way easier if you could just vary the dimension as a parameter.

Could you create 2 constraints; 1 for either position and always have 1 suppressed and the other active? Then use an iLogic rule to check the input parameter, and change the suppression of the constraints based upon the result.

Another (worse) way: How about putting a couple of reference dimensions on your points (The .75 and .35 dimensions you have there), and naming them in the parameter screen? Then, you could switch which parameter gets used when the Option changes.

This is what I want to do, but I don't know how I can access and change sketch constraints. Do you know how to do this?
