How do you use muscle controls?

I'm using this awesome free chicken model, from here http://www.creativecrash.com/maya/downloads/character-rigs/c/chicken_rig/comments#tabs in Maya 2015. In the video on that web page he's playing with the control boxes he made. As a newb I cannot figure out (have googled, watched many videos, looked in the help...) how is he doing it?

How do you use make muscles move in Maya?  Note that I don't mean to ask how you implement muscles in a model, but how do you actually use the controls, is it some key press and mouse drag?

I figured it out, for some reason I wasn't able to use the translate tool on the controls before, but now it is working 🙂
