Roto Mask help

Hello there,

This is Ramesh Jayaraman from Prasad Corp, India.  I want to share the roto mask from Flame to Lustre grading suite,

Can Someone help me on this?

Since I don't find any dedicated forum for the Lustre I'm posting this here.  And if it is not appropriate, apologize.

Your help on this is very much appreciated.

Thanks

Ramesh Jayaraman

Hi Ramesh,

There is no way to share animated gmasks between Flame and Lustre.

Such of a collaborative feature does not exist.

You can only share raw gmasks between Flame and Lustre at the moment. This excludes the animation data.

To do so, please follow the steps below:

Loading Garbage Mask Setups from Autodesk Applications

You can load garbage mask setups created with other Autodesk products (Flame, Flame Assist and Flare) to use as geometries in Lustre.

To import a garbage mask setup, you must export it from the applicable

Autodesk product as a raw setup file, and then save it to the Lustre program directory. You can then load
the garbage mask setup to the current secondary for use as a geometry.

NOTE You must create the geompresets directory manually to store your raw setup files. However, if you have
created a preset, the geompresets directory is automatically generated.

To load a garbage mask setup:
1 Export a raw setup file from the applicable Autodesk product.

2 Do one of the following:

?? If using the Linux version of Lustre, store the raw setup file in the /usr/autodesk/
number>/settings/geompresets directory.

3 Click Presets to display the Presets list.

4 Expand Gmasks raw import, and then select the raw setup file.

5 Click OK to load the garbage mask setup.
The geometry appears in the Player.

Please let me know if you have any other questions,

Regards,

Yann

Hi Yann,

Thanks for the reply. Pls do find below query from one of my client, and

Am I sensible to request you for the solution?

Is it possible to execute roto work to create power window style mattes
via any package, then be able to export that roto as gMask spline data and
import that gMask spline data into Lustre, so that the spline data is
"live" and can be manipulated by a colorist, the same as working with a
power window created directly in Lustre?

Much appreciated,

Thanks

Hi Ramesh,

You can refer to the link below for the complete documentation:

http://help.autodesk.com/view/FLAME_P/2016/ENU/?guid=GUID-0E9CBCD8-D694-4745-9F12-4930B437CA58

Note that this applies to raw gmaks (not including animation or tracking data).

Also, be aware that the path mentioned in the documentation is incorrect:

/usr/autodesk/<version number>/settings/geompresets directory

should be

/usr/autodesk/<version number>/presets/geompresets directory

Please let us know if you have any further questions,

Regards,

Yann
