Are you sure that they are even aware of that 'problem'?
So far i haven`t seen anything in the SP release notes refering to surface continuity of quadChamfer, only a normal issues which could be a completely separate problems.
I several times submited bug. In the realese notes to sp2 they say that some fixed, but i do not see any improvements.
Yes, I can confirm. Shading is still incorrect. Maybe we should report this issue.
For example take a look at how Blender, a free program, produces quad chamfers flawlessly:
this is not shading, this is incorrect geometry topology algorithm
