Hello guys.
I tried to apply a Displacement Map to my mesh, but the result isn't so fine...
I used this image as displacement map: http://prntscr.com/77pyc6
While here's my result: http://prntscr.com/77pxp5
So, as you can see, I've two problems:
1. The "hole" in the center of the mesh isn't a circle (as I decided in the displacement map, the black circle), but it's an oval shape. Why? O.o
2. You can see this "noise", "bug", "lack" right here: http://prntscr.com/77pzpq
The shape is weird :S not a perfect circle
How to resolve this?
P.S: In order to make a displacement map, I used the "Displace" modifier on the Box mesh.
Thanks very much in advance!
Adjust the UV Map to correct the distortion of the circle.
To get a smooth circle you will need many polygons; potentially millions to get it smooth.
Depending on what you're trying to accomplish, this might easily be done with boolean operations. Cut a cylinder from the box.
So I've applied a displacement map on a box in order to simulate a wall.
The problem is that I've three situations: http://prntscr.com/78qtll
1. Right side -> well done, i like the result
2. Left side -> Uhm... no... i don't want that weird stuff... just want that side to be as the right side is. How?
3. Front side -> This side is absolutely strange... as you can see -> http://prntscr.com/78qu5y
How to fix the left and the front side? Why do this happen?
Thanks very much
The problem you're seeing here is incorrect UVW mapping.
Apply a UVW Map modifier and select box. Shrink the tiling for the problematic side. This will require some trial and error.
