What do I need to run Vred?

Hi,

I would like to know what do I need to run Vred professional. I am thinking of buying a core i5 3.2 ghz 64-bits with 4 or 8gb of ram, I also have a Nvdia Gtx 460. Will it work with this for normal usage.

Hi,

Thanks, So I decided, I will go for an i7 4.0 ghz, now I have to decide between adding more ram or an ssd. they are at the same price.

ssd 254gb with 8gb of ram

or

hdd 7200rpm 64mb with 16gb ram

As it will be use for product design the models are not too large like cars. what would be better?

I recommend to go with the SSD in any case, it really makes a massive difference. Also memory is easy to upgrade at any time.

Hi,

Thanks, I have a quick question, Does Vred take any benefit from a gtx 760 video card?

regards.

VRED uses the GPU for OpenGL rendering only. Raytracing is CPU only.
