Why can't I explode this block?

I don't know if I've scrambled my brain looking at my screen for too long but I can't for the life of me figure out why this block won't explode.

It is inserted to a non-uniform scale but that 'shouldn't' be a problem should it? I have EXPLMODE set to 1 which should allow exploding but it doesn't. If I adjust the X scale factor to 1 then the block will explode but that obviously isn't any good to me.

I have dabbled with Jurg Menzi's MeExplode routine but that also fails to explode the block.

Is there anybody out there who can give me pointer as to what's going on here? PLEASE!!

From Help:

When nonuniformly scaled blocks contain objects that cannot be exploded,
they are collected into an anonymous block (named with a "*E" prefix) and
referenced with the nonuniform scaling. If all the objects in such a block
cannot be exploded, the selected block reference will not be exploded. Body,
3D Solid, and Region entities in a nonuniformly scaled block cannot be
exploded.

Hmmm. I guess that goes some way to explaining it then. The bit of that explanation that threw me off track was the word ALL. As my block wasn't getting rerefenced as *Exxx then I was thinking something else was hapenning but this renaming only happens when at least one entity in the block can be exploded which in this case they can't as it is a single 3d solid.

Ah well, thanks for opening my eyes a little wider and making me read a little closer.

may b this block created without allowing explode option; anyway

1) use "block editor" copy the objects.

2) exit block editor with/without save.

3) simple  Paste

check the attachment.

Another method:
Open in block editor.
Open the Properties flyout.
Down towards the bottom of the list is a line that toggles the allow exploding.
Close the block editor (and save it).
Explode as usual.

Don't know the reason why this thread is zombified. or is it an entirely different issue, but whats obvious is, the block is not scaled uniformly, hence it cannot be exploded.

uncheck scale uniformly

[Just in case it's relevant to anyone:  While the "Scale Uniformly" and/or "Allow Exploding" options in defining a Block may be the answer for the recent revival posts on this old thread, be aware that at the time of the original post, neither of those options existed.  They came along in later versions.]
