vla-get-document in 2000, what is it in 14

What would the equivelent to the vla-get-doocuments
function used in 2000 vlisp in version 14 vlisp.

I really need to create a utility to open files
via lisp or arx that opens the file in read-only mode
without user interaction.

I was able to create this in 2000 vlisp but it does not
work in 14. vla-get-documents is invalid in 14?

It has no equivalent in vlisp r14 (no multiple
documents)

Use DOSLib/LISP to set the read-only attribute on your file before you open
it.
