twain

Hi, all
Does anyone know how to link by autolisp a twain scanner?
My goal is to connect the scanner (it is twain compatible) with autocad and
specify some propriety like the name of scannered file the type (.bmp or
.jpg) true color or greyscale and so on so I have only to put the paper on
the scanner.
Thank you in advance
Davide

We used to have a twain scanner, what is "twain", and should I grab it back.
The one we have now has character recognition and is like 25% faster and
works off an USB.

I believe "TWAIN" stands for "Technology Without An Interesting Name."
SERIOUSLY!

figured it was something like that, my predecessor was a goon and would have
bought it for that reason alone.

The actual definition:

Technology Without An Interesting Name [A standard protocol and API for
communication between software applications and image acquisition devices
defined by Hewlett-Packard, Logitech, Documagix and Canon.]

Every scanner I have ever touched relied on TWAIN.

you would be more sucessful getting WiseImage from Consistent Software and
then you can scan, edit and convert inside AutoCAD or LT
