Trouble Saving workspace settings

I have tried multiple ways to save ALL changes made to my workspace. I tried changing some system variables (ex. navcubedisplay=1). I am trying to save such changes as: minimizing the Autodesk Exchange Search box on the top of the screen, default osnap setting upon starting autocad (ex. I want the grid line to be shut off by default).

I'm sure this is an easy fix, and I'm just not seeing it. Thank you in advance for any help.

I am running Autocad 2012.

A few of the items you are describing are either Registry settings specific to your workstation,

or settings that are saved in the drawing file itself. These have nothing to do with workspaces

or can be saved inside the CUI file.

Further investigation on your part is needed...

SETVAR and SETENV are ways to adjust settings to your desires, and can be initialized via

declarations inside ACAD.lsp, ACADDOC.lsp, or MyMenu.mnl... or by loading a LSP/FAS file

directly within a declaration inside the CUI - the latter is "hard pathed", so relocating the file

to another folder would nullify the read.
