supressing table title or header does not work

I am making table styles using code posted here:

http://hyperpics.blogs.com/beyond_the_ui/2012/07/creating-a-table-style-with-autolisp-and-the-active...

It all seems to work, except when I place a table using the style I created, the title and headers always show.

I have not changed the code at all, the important lines are:

(vla-put-HeaderSuppressed custObj :vlax-true)

(vla-put-TitleSuppressed custObj :vlax-true)

I am wondering if anyone has got that supression to work, as I never saw any examples as everyone sets it to false.

Not only that, I tried finding the toggle to supress in the table styles dialogs.

I cannot find it anywhere. The autocad "help" does not speak of it either.

The properties dialog has no mention of supressing headers, but that makes sense as its in the style...

Am I chasing a ghost?

I too have a similar gripe (R2014).
When creating tables from the "Revised for 2014" dialog box, the column header can be changed to a cell (there is no "none" line), and the cell cannot be changed to "none" if I want only a title and a cell. There is always three total rows and none less.
Aggravating...
