Spell-checker Dictionary Location?

I'm trying to write an improved spell-checker for a friend. My main question is: What is AutoCAD's default path to the American English dictionary? I've tried searching for anything that might be a dictionary, but haven't had any luck so far.

Also, does anyone know the algorithm that AutoCAD uses to suggest replacement words? After doing some research on spell-checkers, I haven't found any algorithms that would return a list like CAD's, and all the ones I've found are too slow when implemented in LISP. I'm thinking about creating a smaller dictionary of commonly-used civil engineering words, but to do that efficiently I'd still need to find the default dictionary. Anyways, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just add the words you want to the Sample.cus file. These will be used in
addition to the Standard Dictionary when using spell check. The location
(and file for that matter) is set under Options->Files->Text Editor,
Dictionary, and Font File Names->Custom Dictionary File
