Remove attributes from existing blocks

I have a few drawings (50 or so) that have blocks with attributes in it. To convert them to a different CAD-program the attributes need to go. I tried to redefine the blocks with inserting blocks without attributes: the block is updates but the attributes remain.
Is there a way to simply select blocks and remove all attributes from it?

Kind regards,

You should be able to find or make a routine to redefine the BLOCKs with the ATTRIBUTEs removed, or changed them to TEXTs, either within the BLOCK definitions, or as independent objects.

And to do it automatically for each dwg.

That is the Auto of Autocad.

Tried to find a routine, but they just update the block and keep the attributes. Can you (or somebody) put me in the right direction?

Just curious, what did you find?
Eg, post the most promising code you found.
That starts everyon.

As requested the most promising code.
This replaces the blocks, but keeps the attributes.
