Problem with transparency in png icons

I'm customizing a ribbon using png icons, but the background color appears in black.

What is the problem?

Thanks for your answer.

I will take that in mind when I design my icons. Only bmp format and R192 G192 B192 as background color, not any fancy formats like png with alfa channel to define transparency!

But i'm intrigued!

I have two similar png icons (32x32 pixels, alfa channel, 32 bits images) but just one of them displays correctly.

Any logic reason for this behavior.

How do you use png files when customizing the ribbons?  I can only use bmp files.  Is there any documentation on this?
