the knowledgebase - it doesn't seem to be available at the open source
project...any ideas where I can see this?

Thanks

hey henrique, comment ca vas?

I already went through the downloads area. I read the manual for the full
install and it is rather sparse. The help seems a little sparse too,

I simply can't find a list of functions for each control. i have no way of
knowing how to set the information in a textbox for example...

If you have any reference material on this please email it to me...

Thanks

Jamie,

Once you start working with Object DCL, do this: start by creating a new
form. Then, insert controls in the form. Then, right click on the control
you just inserted, and select "intelligent help" from the menu. You will see
all the functions associated with the control you just selected.
Beware that as of today, ObjectDCL does not work in AutoCAD 2007, only until
2006.

ObjectDCL is worth the effort. It gets some time to get the idea, but once
you grab it, you will not want to go back to plain DCL.

here is the code for my first attempt... where am I going wrong?

1. when the box opens, i want the focus to be on the screen and not the
box..how is that done
2.if i click on textbox1 and change the value only enter will update the
caption - i tried the other event but is was problematic...my codng was
probably bad
3. when i change the previous entry which was inserted it will change it,
but when i click the next point and insert the next blcok the previous block
disappears (it is still there, it just hides until i do a trgrn)

If you can offer a suggestion it would be greatly appreciated

I can write dialog boxes fairly quickly with dcl, it's the modeless option
in objectdcl which has me really wanting to use it...

Thanks

Kerry,

How do you load the ObjectDCL's arx file in AutoCAD
2007?, and where is that file? I still do not understand.

Regarding the Project Converter, I downloaded that,
and it gives me a .exe file that just opens ObjectDCL as usual. How does it
convert an old project? I can save my old files using this version of ObjectDCL,
but, again, in AutoCAD 2007 I need to load the .arx file. Where is that
file?

Alfredo, are you playing games with me
??

In the binaries zip there is an OBJECTDCL2007.ARX.
load it in any of the conventional ways ...

or use something like this :

size=2>;;;------------------------------------------------------------------

(defun checkObjectDCLloaded (/ tmp tmpfd
objectdclloaded)
  ;; if suitable version not found, Yell & then
spit the dummy.
  ;;
  ;; KWB :- Rev : 2003.Oct.17
  ;;
revised kwb 20060906
  ;;
  ;;
  (foreach
item (mapcar 'strcase (arx))
    (if (wcmatch item
"OBJECTDCL*")
      (setq objectdclloaded
item)
    )
  )

(cond
 (objectdclloaded
  (princ)
  ;; (prompt (strcat
"\n " objectdclloaded " is Loaded."))
 )
 ((= "17" (substr
(getvar "acadver") 1 2))
  (setq tmp
"OBJECTDCL2007.arx")
 )
 ;;
 ((= "16" (substr (getvar
"acadver") 1 2))
  (setq tmp
"OBJECTDCL2004.arx")
 )
 ;;
 ((= "15" (substr (getvar
"acadver") 1 2))
  (setq tmp "OBJECTDCL.arx")
 )
 (t
(alert "Unable to load correct ObjectDCL Version."))
  )
  (if
(not objectdclloaded)
    (if (and tmp (setq tmpfd
(findfile tmp)))
      (arxload tmpfd "ObjectDCL
load error.")
      (progn (alert " ObjectDCL
Library not found."))
    )
  )

(princ)
)

size=2>;;;------------------------------------------------------------------

Regarding the Converter, I'm not familiar with the
internal working, you'd have to ask at SourceForge. I do know if you open a
2004,2006 ODC file and re-save it the format will be changed to a text based
file which will be compatible with the NEW OBJECTDCL2007.ARX and also with the
NEW build of OBJECTDCL2004.ARX

The Editor can be used for originating or editing
files in the new format.

Kerry,

How do you load the ObjectDCL's arx file in
AutoCAD 2007?, and where is that file? I still do not understand.

Regarding the Project Converter, I downloaded
that, and it gives me a .exe file that just opens ObjectDCL as usual. How does
it convert an old project? I can save my old files using this version of
ObjectDCL, but, again, in AutoCAD 2007 I need to load the .arx file. Where is
that file?

just an observation ...

I renamed the editor and ARX's < suffixed
with the date> ie ObjectDCL-20061108.exe end dropped them into my
original<ver 3.0> install folder.

Speaking of versions ... it appears that the
versioning is not being updated with each build at this stage, but some
people may be more pedantic that others regarding that.

I don't know,
Kerry,
I downloaded the latest installation file, and it is the same
software I
bought some time ago; it does not have a new ObjectDCL2006
or 07.arx file,
beyond the ObjectDCL2004.arx that was supplied before.
So, I cannot load the
same ObjectDCL2004.arx in AutoCAD 2007. It just
does not load. So, until I
get a new .arx file I have to repeat that
ObjectDCL does not work in AutoCAD
2007. I do not know how you were
able to try it.

Alfredo,
The majority of the controls are
functional.
There is a translator to convert the <=2006
.odc's
There is a new Editor.
There is an ObjectDCL2004 and
ObjectDCL2007  ARX which reads the same ODC in
the relevant
environment.

Have you tried that by yourself, or
is it something you have read, that it
works with 2007, but you have
not tried it yet?

2006.

hey henrique, comment ca vas?

I already went through the downloads area. I read the manual for the full
install and it is rather sparse. The help seems a little sparse too,

I simply can't find a list of functions for each control. i have no way of
knowing how to set the information in a textbox for example...

If you have any reference material on this please email it to me...

Thanks
