Layer Merge, a little problem, need help !

Dwg file have 4 layers,
 layer1, Layer2,layer3,layer4
I want to convert the object on the layer 1,2,3  to layer4
The purpose of the original program is: when convert later, will remove the layer 1,2,3 , and display conversion time on command bar.
Now ,the problem is conversion success, but not remove the layer1,2,3 , not display the conversion time.
Command bar shows the error message:

Please wait, processing.....
*cancel*; error: An error has occurred inside the *error* functionbad argument  type: symbolp 1

I test with cad2007 and cad2010 , it's the same error.

I think this is a good routine , I think other people will need it,  but only have a little problem,
I need some help,  Thanks,

curious why you want to program this... for the experience perhaps.

What version of Autocad are you on?... regardless, there's a way to do this without the programing.

laymrg can be done from the command line... this has been available for several releases.

In the new layer palette, you can select multiple layers, then right-click and select merge layer. This method might be limited to AutoCAD MEP... i think

Yes, I can. Perhaps I'll download and look at what you've done. A bit on the busy side at the moment.
