How to establish whether a font can have vertical generation?

Hi,

I have a routine that appends text picking up the properties of the
source TEXT object. It works until the font is not dual oriented when
it falls over because it tries to set the vertical generation of the
text.

I have looked through the STYLE codes and the TEXT object codes but
cannot find out where I could identify this.

This occurs if the font used is a TTF or a SHX that has not been
written for dual orientation.

I am using AutoCAD 2006.

Any ideas?

Thanks.
