Express Tools loads automatically in Custom and ACAD.CUI's

Hi,

We are currently working on deploying AutoCAD 2013 with our own customisations, however, we keep having an issue with Express Tools.

Basically we set the Main CUI as the Custom.CUI file with no partials loaded.

Our Enterprise CUI then loads all the partials we need so that the CUI's are all read only to the user. This way there is less risk in people corrupting the main ACAD.CUI etc. from the program.

So basically our Company.CUI (Enterprise) loads the following...

  • Express Tools
  • ACAD
  • Company Tools

The issue we are having is that this is fine when you first create all this, but if you close AutoCAD and reopen, the Express Tools CUI is then loaded automatically in the CUSTOM.CUI even though we took it out (Something must be writing this in on the fly but what) This then gives the user the annoying pop up about the customisation group name already existing which we dont want to do ideally...

Is there anyway to stop Express Tools demand loading in the Custom.CUI on startup so that we dont get this issue? Im presuming replacing the files in the Deployment Imag wont help as something is doing this on Startup...

Does anyone have any advice please 🙂

P.S - We used this procedure in AutoCAD 2010 and it worked fine but 2013 seems to do things slightly differently.

OK, so I may have a fix for this but would prefer it if anyone can explain what could be causing this...

To remove the issue we had to move the path (C:\program files\autodesk\autocad 2013\express) in the Support file Search Path for Express Tools to the bottom of the list so that this loaded last.

This allowed us to load the Express Tools (acetmain.cuix) as a partial in our Company CUI file which is loaded as the Enterprise.

By doing this, the error message about the Group already existing is removed...

My question is, within the Express Tools folder located in C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2013\Express is there anything that demand loads the CUIx from C:\Users\xxxxxxxx\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2013 - English\R19.0\enu\support (xxxxxxxx being the user id)

Regards,

Duncan
