have different dimension styles if you are only going to have 1 dimscale?
I use the different styles to identify the "scale" of the model space
entities that I am working with i.e. Dimstyle "ARCH_16" is a 3/4"=1'-0" detail
Dimstyle "ARCH_04" is a 3"=1'-0" detail, etc.

dimensioning is done in model space because of the paper space limitations.
Our company standards are to dimension below 2'-0" with inches only. And then
there are times when we have dual dimensions when the dimension is to short to
fit above the line the alternate is placed below, for which we have a
different style. And when we insert blocks or details from another drawing
which has a different scale and dimstyle and explode it I have to individually
change the dimscale.
