Attdef / Text Truetype Superscripts

Is there a way to force a superscript for any truetype font ? I have attdefs that need to have a raised character and haven't discovered any means yet to do this with truetype fonts (specifically - Arial). I'm currentyl using Acad 2002 - is this still a limitation of attribute definitions in later versions?
