Anyone using Windows Live to access this NG?

I know it's not strictly an NG query, but it is driving me mad!

In Outlook Express, the newsgroups worked with a 'tree view' that kept
related posts (those in the same thread) together and in a tree view. Having
been pushed into moving to Windows Live (for mail and NG's) I can't seem to
find a way of emulating the OE view - all posts can be ordered
ascending/descending on any column, or you can enter some part of the
post/thread title in the search box and they will all display.

However, it is just a constant flat list - anyone had any experience?

TIA--
Gordon

i have been forced by ms to update my messenger to live 9.0 or so
(didn´t start the old one any more)... all contacts gone
downgraded to 8.1, set campatibility mode to win2000 (so no need to
update, all works great)...
if they want me to test there products, they should pay me 😉

I have my PC at home configured to read this newsgroup from Windows Live (Win 7 RC).
The setting are in obscure places, but if I can find them again I'll post them if someone has not already.
I have it configured as you would like it.

Mel

Haven't checked out the version, but I certainly lost all my contacts
and have been generating a new list. MS are such a pain when it comes to
forced and unwelcome upgrades!

I'll take a look at that Bill; does it work with all the revised
settings for mail and will it also poll hotmail accounts - which is the
reason I was forced into moving - that plus they have been saying for
ages that they won't support Outlook Express any longer.

Apparently it's not so obscure after all, simply go to the "View" dropdown
and select "View by conversation", this will display threads organized by
topic.
To set whether the threads are displayed as expanded or not go to
"Tools->Options->Read" and either check or uncheck "Automatically expand
grouped messages".

Mel
