When you open your drawing in a newer version of AutoCAD, it detects the massive number of annotation scales and offers to reset the list.  Doing so produces a 61KB drawing.

Find a way to purge the annotation scales.

Hi .

That's not only the matter that cause to increase the file size . I have some drawings if you just only open and close them , the file size would be increased . I also do not know why , but I have read somewhere along time a go that saving as drawing from Cad versions to old versions and on the contrary it would create some kind of hidden objects or entities that would cause this and even with command purge that would not purge them  .

Hope that someone could explain it for us too .

Thanks.

I'm sorry for abbreviated response, but (why) do you need a drawing that's fat, with nothing in it ?

Just use File / New / use Acad.dwt, saveas (samename as your blank).

🙂

Bob
