Save a Proposed Copy Design

Save a Proposed Copy Design

The ability to save a "proposed" copy design prior to execution would be extremely useful.

For complex assemblies, setting up a Copy Design can be VERY time consuming.  If that Copy Design fails, an error message is generated, but then the user has no choice but to start over again.

If you could set up the copy design, save the proposed changes, & then execute it, that would prevent this issue.  If a failure occurred, you could simply could re-open the proposed Copy Design, troubleshoot, & then execute it again.  This would be a tremendous time saver.

An alternate solution would be this: upon failure, an error message could be generated, & then the user could be returned to the Copy Design process (rather than get kicked out of it)

Some assemblies are very large and time consuming to copy design properly. It would be nice to have a "Save Progress" button so that the copy design can be saved and completed after lunch.

Along the same lines as this idea - You could even save a copy design as a template so you can save what files you wish to copy/reuse and their new names/vault location. This will allow you to copy the same model multiple times with minimal changes to the copy design structure also if you have any errors you can just reopen the template and continue.

Is this something that will actually be implemented?

Sorry - I'm having a bad Vault day & a high level of frustration...

It will be very useful when users can save there configured copy session.

-to start them later

-to have a documentation

-to use it again

-....

Executing a saved session on another user / PC would also be great in this upcoming functionality

Since Copy Design often fails for weird reasons, it would save a lot of time if we could save our selections before trying to run it.  It often takes a lot of time to set what you want to copy in a large assembly only have it lost by some obscure error.  If the selection set was saved, we could resolve the error and then continue.
