Revit - Editing a Family from a Project, then Add/Update to Vault

Revit - Editing a Family from a Project, then Add/Update to Vault

Description

When a Family is opened directly from a project for editing, it is common practice that the Family will be saved back to the content library as a new version. This is traditionally easy to achieve when using a regular file server.

When trying to achieve this by using the Vault > Add File command, the file is required to be saved to a local drive first before adding to Vault.

Impact

The user shouldn’t have to do this as it is an unnecessary 2 step process.

Severity

Medium

Solution

Allow a save directly to Vault without having to save to a local drive first.
