Multi-language properties in Vault

Multi-language properties in Vault

Greetings!

We are collecting inputs from Vault customers and users on the following product requirement. Please provide your inputs and votes. This will help us decide whether to include this a new product feature in future release.

File Properties In Vault:
a. There is no way to create multi-language properties in Vault, The customer have to create extra custom properties for each language. As the customer get more languages in future, the list gets longer. They need to define a property with a dictionary to define properties in many languages. For example, when the user is setting the Description, he wants to set up the dictionary to enter the German term, the Italian term etc.
b. Sometimes csutomers have properties for which they need to enter multiple values. But there are no multiple selection widgets like checkbox. Right now, some customers are using a workaround by using a text field and entering delimiters for multiple values.

Hi All,

Customers need some of the most important information in files, like description in different languages - English, German, and Chinese.

Challenge:

For international enterprises a multi-language support of property fields would be helpful.

1.Language dependent values for one property (like SAP).

2.Possibility to have a mapping across several language for value-lists (If user picks value for German, the English value is also set).

Necessary, dicitionary functionality is also useful for other stuff like abreviations. Take a look at profile/procad. There it is implemented in a very convinient way.
