More Options for Assignment Rules

I would like the option of not only assigning to a category with a rule but to choose the lifecycle in that category as well.

To be able to assign a specific lifecycle to files now I must create a specific category just for that lifecycle and set it to default. This causes me to have too many categories. My alternative is to have my users (65+) set the lifecycle manually every time. It would be easier to heard cats then to get 65+ engineers to follow the rules manully every time they check in a file.

I want to add a bit more to this suggestion. Hopefully it helps.

I have a category called AVIONICS which is only for avionics drawings. I just received a new requirement from my Operations group that certain types avionics drawings must undergo an OPS reveiw. All other avionics drawings will remain in their current lifcycle.

So, my dilema is that I can't just create a new lifcycle (i.e. avionics ops) and have my file assign to the current AVIONICS category and be assigned the new lifecycle. I would have to change the default lifecycle for AVIONICS which would then not work for "other" types of AVIONICS drawings that don't need an ops review. My current workflow if to create a new category called AVIONICS-OPS and have avionics ops lifecycle be the default lifecycle.
