Email notification on Lifecycle transition

Email notification on Lifecycle transition

Currently only Email notification exists on CHange Order State Changes.

Provide the ability to allow the Administrator to define the user or group of users to be notified on lifecycle state change on a specific lifecycle definition.

I'd like to take this a step futher.  The end user shoudl have the ability to subscribe to a file and checklist a set of criteria that they would like to trigger an email notification sent to them.  State change, rev change, or any of the more obvious ones...

To build on the above...

It would be nice to be able to build lifecycle routings like the ECO process.

You may need data to flow to different persons or groups to move to different states.

Example..

Engineering data may need approvals from group A

Process data may need approval from group B

Today you can place only a specific lifecycle configuration on them and give transition permission to group or users.

Now they need to know that there is work to be performed.

Data workflow for state change is the first processes to be performed before data can even realisticly get to an ECO process, but we have routing and notification on ECO already.

Greetings!

We are collecting inputs from Vault customers and users on the following product requirement. Please provide your inputs and votes. This will help us decide whether to include this a new product feature in future release.

"Provide an ability to choose to send email notifications for change orders to few people. Currently, customers don’t use the notifications in change order, as they get lots of emails due to it."

A bigger issue for us is to be able to customize the emails.  Most of my users find it difficult to distinguish what Item or Change order the Email refers to because it is embedded in the links rather than on the subject line and as section headers in the email body.

I have realised it using job server and programming. It is not big deal, but it will be nice have in standard functionality.

Thanks for sharing your Idea. We use this forum to guide product development and help users in the best way we can based on voting. We occasionally merge Ideas or archive old ones to keep the forum working properly- it ensures there is room for people to review new Ideas and that the most relevant and meaningful ones can gain votes. We’re archiving this Idea because it's been on the board for well over a year and hasn't received many votes from the community. If you want to raise it again and try to gain more support, you're welcome to do so. We’ve found that pictures and mock-ups can help get concepts across and win more votes from other users. Add the option to send e-mail to people participant the lifecycle process, including eg. Comments inserted by designer or managers during the change process command.
The hiperlink to open file directly from inbox mail, mainly the managers that do not use vault all the time.

Thereat we will keep vault history and e-mail history.

How long will is take for Autodesk to implement the Email notification into next releases?

Has anybody found a way around this yet? Email notifications on a lifecycle state change should definitely be possible in this software. I can't seem to figure out how yet.

Management is fed up with all of the ECO email notifications. This is from my very involved CEO:  "Is there a way to have the system NOT send notification when someone else signs an EN?  The volume of notifications takes away from the urgency of people signing the ones they actually need to review and sign."

Is there a way to manage this yet?

It would be desirable to select the recipient based on the ECO creation
instead of having all the time the same group as the environment is not so
static anymore that there is always the same pool of people for an
engineering problem.

It would be good to have a message dialog where people can be added in cc
or bcc which should be informed based on engineering problem.

email nottification on lifecycle change is a thing many of our customers need for years now ... dissapointing ... but, status bar changes color when we login as admin. 🙂

We get all of these emails on every state change and have since found that EVERYONE minus the shop for the final Closed step has been creating Outlook rules to delete the massive amounts of spam this has created. You literally give us the minimum amount of settings and options to make these things work... Why are you selling a package with the promise that a feature is in it and not have it fully fleshed out? The Autodesk paralysis will be the death of your user base. Please try to improve the features and stop focusing new programs to layer on top to fix these ones. No one wants to invest more money on a spotty unfocused ecosystem.
