Check Released Children also on attached files

Currently the check on Released children, links, contained folders etc. when you do a Lifecycle transition to a released state does not include the attached files. So you can have a Word or Excel file, attached to a design file, that are still being reviewed or modified without blocking the release of the design file. The system works OK for Inventor and AutoCAD links (dependencies) but not for attachments.

Great post! Absolutely necessary in my opinion!

We would like to make use of this feature within our company for attaching design review files, documents created via third party software, anything basically that should be forced to be released before the main CAD file can be released.

At the moment, we have to remind and manage that users ensure the "include attachments" option is selcted. Inevitably this gets forgotten.

We have considered using other softwares to help us manage this problem.

For our wiring and harness parts (which have not been designed in Autodesk Electrical or Inventor) we have some released PDF files.

These have been generated through a third party software.

This means we can continue uprevising CAD files which have no link to that released PDF that controls its manufacture.
