Batch plotting to single PDF file.

Batch plotting to single PDF file.

When batch plotting inside Vualt Client, I would like the option to plot individual Autocad drawings to a single PDF file.  Currently, Inventor drawings will do this automatically, since the sheets are a set within a single idw file.   With Autocad drawings, however, we often have projects that may contain as many as 36 individual dwg files.  Even if these are controlled by a sheet set or an Acad Electrical project, they batch plot from Vault Client as individual pdf files.  These, then, have to be manually compiled into a single pdf for transmittal to customer, vendors etc.

The option, (checkbox perhaps) to compile them into a single pdf right in the plot window, would be a tremendous time saver.

Thank you!

At the moment, Vault's Batch Plot prints out all drawings in the list. For printing onto physical paper, this may not produce any errors, but if you are printing to PDF, drawings with multiple sheets will only yield one PDF with the final sheet. I understand that this is because Vault prints out each sheet of the drawing with the same name.

The Idea:

When using Batch Plot to print out drawings with multiple sheets, when printing to a PDF, add a suffix to differentiate the sheet names. For example:

Consider a 4-sheet drawing "11225-0566050-00.dwg".

It would print-to-PDF as:

11225-0566050-00 Sht 1.pdf

11225-0566050-00 Sht 2.pdf

11225-0566050-00 Sht 3.pdf

11225-0566050-00 Sht 4.pdf

Bonjour,

La fonction TRACER permet d'imprimer plusieurs fichiers en même temps. Pour les PDF il est créé un fichier PDF par fichiers. Il serait très utile de pouvoir imprimer directement plusieurs fichiers dans un seul PDF.

Hello,

The TRACER function allows you to print several files at the same time. For PDFs, a PDF file is created. It would be very useful to be able to directly print several files in a single PDF.

Greetings

Since you are performing a print, this capability is handled by the Print driver. You can accomplish this with the Adobe Print driver.

Print works on one file at a time.  This idea was about multi-file plotting.

If Vault plotting is going to allow different settings for each sheet of a file, we also need the option to name each sheet in the Plot options, so PDF plots will not overwrite each other or prompt for filename (depending on the driver settings).

Please include an option to append "sheet number" or "sheet number: total sheets" to filename for multi-sheet source drawings.

When batch plotting from the Vault client, it would be nice to be able to have tickboxes:

 - Print all sheets to single PDF

 - Print all sheets from all drawings to single PDF.
