many customers want to have this features.

All activity log(Download, Check Out, Check in by whom and when) must be logged for administrator's monitoring.

PLM 360 has it, it means that Autodesk knows why this is neccessary.

Greetings,

I have seen many presentations of others document managers and Vault has a weak point here.

I agree with the last two users: a complete set of logging functions are necessary, specially in big companies.

When you can't restrict some behaviours because the application doesn't allow it, a complete logging may be helpful.

Hi all,

is it something new with this issue or is it still "under review"?

I work for a big company and how wrote jeamy.baena in 2014 "a complete set of logging functions are necessary, specially in big companies".

I would also like to log who previewed a files in the Vault or  the Thin clients, this could be useful for monitoring who accessed sensitive data.

Hello,

I've read the AKN artikl and two questions to this topic. What do you mean under the term "download file". When I'm calling the Get... function, the file is downloaded to my VaultWorkFolder - is this captured in the log too? The same rutine is made, when I am using the CheckOut command.

What about using the Thin client and the Vault Addins?

Thank you for your answers.

All-

I agree this functionality is needed.  Keeping IP secure as well as monitoring hundreds of users from a usage perspective is needed as this tool is propagated.

This is also needed when a user claims they checked in a file and now data is missing. I need to be able to know if they did or not.

We just realized that only the deletion of files is tracked ion the vault, but not of items. It would sometimes be helpful to have that also traced and logged for items too - please extend this to the logging function in the background.

Please also add my request to have these features implemented.  I especially need to know who has active connections to a given system.  It is not enough to know which user has obtained a license with multiple servers.

I also vote for this feature. As previously mentioned, Autodesk Buzzsaw, which was nowhere nearly as robust as Vault, audited/tracked basically every single interaction. This is a very core feature that most other document/drawing management systems include. Why are we able to log downloads and deletions but not something as simple as who logged into Vault and when?

Vault is, at it's heart, an IIS server, file store, and database. At least I am able to use IIS log file reporting tools to get some of the info that I need regularly.

I see that this request has been 'under review' for quite some time. Many users and admins have agreed that it is a much needed feature. Is it a difficult request?

Adding it to a log file would be useful. However, what would really make it a solid and reliable audit trail is to add the login/logout, etc. into the database.

Thank you,

Patrick

Hello,

I now see, that in the 2024 Version we have this Kind of Options:

- User LogIn

- Downloaded Files

- Deleted Files

That's not bad at all. But we are looking to log information, who moved accidently Folders.
