Which local files are in Vault?

From time to time you need to clean out the local (C: drive) Vault directory. Is there a way of seeing which files are tucked away securely in Vault on the server?
I have lost work several times by clearing out the local Vault only to find that one of the files was something I wanted and wasn't checked in 😞

No, unless you open the files in Inventor.
That however does you no good if the file in not an Inventor
filetype.

Waaaay back in Vault's infancy the Vault Explorer
would only show files not in the vault when adding them.  Now they all show
up.  I wish there was a way to turn that filtering on.

Not in Windows Explorer, no. But in Vault Explorer you can by setting up a saved search for "Checked Out By - Is not empty" (or "contains - your Vault user name). At least this will tell you which files are checked out, and therefore the ones that you run the risk of losing if you clear out the C:\ drive. What version are you on? Doesn't 2009 have some sort of workspace sync tool now?
