We are curently running Vault 2010 ADMS with a full version of SQL Server 2005
(Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio 9.00.3042.00)
We are preparing to move to Vault ADMS 2013, the system requirements dictate SQL 2008.
I was wondering if anyone had any experience or thoughts on which version is best for Vault
Server:
Microsoft Windows Server 2003R2 (X64) SP2
Intel Xeon Quad E5450 @ 3.00 GHz
20 GB Ram
Vault Database is about 5GB's
Filestore is just over 200GB's
We tried Express way back when and I know it has limitations, database size.. etc.
but there is:
Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Workgroup Edition
Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Standard
Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 Standard
Small Workgroup >10 users, stability and performance being the priority.
Does anyone know which version is "appropriate" or offers any advantages from the given info?
Thanks in advance for any time you can afford me with this.
According to configration of the machine, I don't think Workgroup edition is a good idea, since Workgroup can only utilize 4GB RAM in your computer. For SQL to Standard edition, the supported max size of RAM is upto 64GB. Given this, Standard edition should be a good choice for you.
Thanks,
Frank
