What if you are not using Items

I am about to upgrade to Pro 2015 and intend to go the route of File Lifecycling at this point.

I am not going to interface with other systems and no non-engineers will be using our BOMS.

I will be having Non-Engineers access our released drawings (Store room and maintenance) using the thin client. 

That being said is there anyway to not show my users the Item Master in the Client Interface?

You can shut off the item master in Tools >> Administration >> Vault Settings >> Items tab >> Set client visibility of items features. You can choose to allow (or not) individual users to turn it on in their clients.
