When a Vault backup is restored onto another machine, the old server name is listed under "Unassigned Sites" in the ADMS Console. I have two questions;
1) What is the value of these unassigned sites? Are they useful and if so, how?
2) Is there any problem associated with deleting these unassigned sites? In particular, would this new ADMS "talk balk" to the other server and delete any data there? I'm particular thinking about scenario where I restore production backup onto test server and then delete the production server from the Unassigned Sites.
Thanks,
Brandon!

Hi Brandon,
These sites can be safely deleted if they are no longer relevant - such deletion would not affect the other system as you describe. These entries are not deleted automatically in order to retain their settings (e.g. replication schedule) in cases where there may be intention to bring the site back on-line.
Hope this helps,
Paul
