viewer in Productstream 5

I have PS5 up and running along with DWF viewer. When I try to view anything
in the vault, it tells me that there is no viewer asighed. How do I set up
the viewer to work in PS5?

Hi John,
Productstream 5 comes with DWF Composer as part of the install. Check
Control Panel>Add/Remove files to verify that Composer 2.0 is installed. If
not, you can try to repair the install or find this on the Productstream CD.
Hope this helps.

DWF Composer should be the default viewer for DWF files in Vault and
Productstream. Did you recently reinstall PS client? I would try a repair on
Composer. You could also download the latest DWF viewer, but since you have
Composer, I would concentrate on that. Can you view files with either viewer
outside of Productstream or Vault Explorer?

I just did an install of PS5. DWF viewer and Composer both work outside PS.

John,

Can you tell us what happens when you use Windows Explorer (the Microsoft
file browser) and double-click on a DWF file? Again using Windows Explorer,
what happens if you select a DWF file and use the "open" command in the
context menu (using the right mouse button key)? This information will
likely help us to debug the issue.

Thanks,

Ken

Double click and 'open both work fine. They bring up Composer. I am having
trouble with all my software. In the inventor group I have a thread about
this. When I open IV or MDT I get an error [cannot find file 'd3dx9_27.dll].
Is this connected?

One more thing to test. Does the edit command (launched from Vault
Explorer) work correctly? I'm hoping it does. If so, then the problem is
that you don't seem to have rights on your machine to create a file in a
temporary directory. Viewing (from Vault) downloads files to temporary
directories, editing downloads to the working folder.
