Vault Setup Ideas

We are a robotics system integrator with standard products. Many times we
will provide our customers a robot cell with both custom and standard
product. Currently our vault is setup up with all projects within the main $
vault directory. We have started putting our standard products under the
vault lib area in a standard products directory. My goal would be to be able
to assemble a cell in Inventor in which my main project directory (Job
folder) has all the new or custom cell components and I simply place any
standard machines or products from our standard products directory located
within the vault lib. This makes sure no one can modify a standard product
while they are working on a new job unless they lspecifically log into the
vault lib as the lib manager user account. What is everyone else doing? Is
there a better way to structure the vault. We have been using vault heavily
since August 2005 and I would like to know if we have the best method in
use. I am sure there are other machine builders out there who have great
idesa on this. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
