VAULT SERVER 2013 INSTALL LOCKS UP ON PROGRESS BAR

I am having issues installing Vault server 2013. We are upgrading from 2012 and the first time I tried the install it locked up at 0% on the progress bar of the install program. The second attempt I was going to try doing a backup of the Vault and then uninstalling 2012 first. The progress bar on the backup program locked up as well. We are using Microsoft Server 2013 for our Vault server while having these problems.

Thank you in advance.

Hi there,

What is the operating system on this server?  Did you mean Server 2003?

Are there any errors in either the system event viewer, install logs or ADMS console - http://crackingthevault.typepad.com/crackingthevault/log-file-locations.html

I meant 2003. In DiagTool.XML had 1 failure:

ASP.Net Test installation was unable to find 3 file(s). Could not find the following files: C:\Program Files\Autodesk Test\TestASPNetStatic.txt, C:\Program Files\Autodesk Test\TestASPNet.aspx, andC:\Program Files\Autodesk Test\TestASPNet.asmx

I do not have "edmPrechecksTestASPNet.msi" anywhere on the server drive.

I do not have an install disk, it was downloaded from Autodesk's subscription website.

OK, well if these files are not in that folder you may have an incomplete download.

I got the file off a client side flash disk of the software and ran it. It gave me this error.

Could not create key:

S-1-5-21-2853556124-2392005846-1300254359-1142\Software\Microsoft.

Verify you have sufficient access to that key, or contat your support personnel.

Hi There,

Are you logged onto the server as administrator?  It seems this could perhaps be related to install permissions.

It should be, I will look into it more, because that is the only account used on the server.

Could there be an issue with being the administrator to another server. We have two seperate servers, 1 for the autodesk and 1 for everything else. The server for autodesk vault, when we log on, uses the others domain, although that is an admin account for the other main server.

There could be - it seems odd but you may have to double check permissions.

Your string is missing a backslash:

%Media%\x86\en-us\edmPrechecks\TestASPNet.msi
