Vault Pro Change category and Change revision Button

With Vault Pro 2015; what's happening with "Change category" and "Change revision" Button!

I sent a case to the vault support and the answer is: "the only way is on the pull down menu now"!! Why?

Hi,

You can customize the toolbar to include any commands you want. So you are not limited to the out-of-the-box configuration. Here is some information on doing so:

Paul is correct you can customise the toolbar to include the command.

However, there is a slight issue with the workflow. You have to have a file selected in order to see the commands in the custimazation dialog.

Not sure why that is, but we are looking into it.

To answer the question of why; when we looked at the CIP data from customers, we saw that very few people are using the change category, and change revision commands explicitly. Given the data we have concluded that the majority of users (somewhere around 80%) set the category via the rules engine on add, and drive revision through the lifecycle actions.

Because of this we decided that having these commands on the toolbar by default was just adding "noise" to the UI that most users dont care about.

Thanks Mikel for the info. Can I suggest putting this into the What's New info as well, so we don't think it's an error in the install. Thanks!
